What is a Site Plan?

A site plan would provide a scale drawing showing the intended use of your property and the space between each element. It would usually include the following elements the building footprint, details of the utilities, necessary landscaping & setbacks as governed by the building department.
The site plan is an integral part of starting the construction process on your new home and determining the size of home that will fit on your property. Your local building department will require specific elements are clearly marked on the site plan. For this reason, it is advisable to determine those elements early in your feasibility study by visiting your building department.
